Come out tonight to Louisa East Elementary and support our girls basketball team. This is the first home game of the season. C-team starts at 6:00 with the doors opening at 5:30.

Attendance challenge this week for each grade level. The homeroom with the highest attendance percentage, for the week, will get to pie Mr.Block in the face Thursday afternoon. We also have dress up days each day. Lets' make it a great 3 day week!

At our Board of Education meeting last week, the LC Board set the new property tax rate at 62.0 cents for every $100 of property value. This is a small increase (from 58.9), which comes to about $31 more per year for a home valued at $100,000. This small increase is important because it makes the Lawrence County school buildings eligible to receive matching funds from the state for use on facilities. Only 0.1 cents of the increase is recallable, which would be about $1 for every $100,000 of assessed property value for a year. If this amount were to be recalled, LC would not receive those matching funds from the state to use on school buildings.

We are only in school for 3 days this coming week. Let's have some fun with some easy dress up days.

Tuesday, 09/02- red, white, and blue day- dress in your favorite USA colored clothing.
Wednesday, 09/03- Wacky Wednesday or mismatch day- dress up in miss matched clothes, wacky socks, funny hat (all school appropriate).
Thursday, 09/03- Pajama day- dress in your favorite pajamas.

We will be posting about an attendance incentive for this coming week that we think the students will really like!

We are already building up a collection of jackets and sweatshirts in our lost and found. Please send your child to grab theirs if you recognize anything.

Good luck to our girls' basketball team as they travel to Blaine Elementary tonight. C-team tip off is scheduled for 5:30 and then B-team right after.
