Congratulations to the LCHS softball team for coming away with the 58th District Championship Title! Taylor Blevins was named 58th District Player of the Year! Abby Maynard, Gracie Preece, Bree Jones, Addalyn Woods, Jada Patton, and Emmalyn Kitts were named 58th All-District Team! Coach Sparks was enthusiastic on their win, stating, " It is great to see these young ladies achieve success on the field and compete one of their preseason goals of becoming district tournament champs!"
A big shout-out to Kendyl Webb, a member of the LCHS track team! Kendyl achieved an impressive second place in the regional competition with a time of 28:48 in the 200-meter dash, earning her a spot in the state competition! Coach Rollins shared his excitement for Kendyl, stating, “Congratulations, Kendyl, on making it to state! Your hard work, determination, and passion have propelled you forward. Keep pursuing greatness one stride at a time! We are incredibly proud of you!”
Kudos to the LC track team on a great season! The coaching staff sincerely appreciates the hard work and dedication exhibited by all team members throughout the spring season. Congratulations to LCHS alumni, Shelly Robertson, a 1998 graduate of LCHS. Mrs. Robertson is a 2022 graduate of the University of Arizona GC with a Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Development, with honors. In 2025, she received a Master of Arts in Special Education (MSD) with honors. Mrs. Robertson has been a FMD teacher at Blaine Elementary School since 2023. Congratulations to LCHS alumni, Misty Diamond, a 2003 graduate of LCHS and student of Louisa East and Middle Schools. Misty is a 2025 graduate of the University of the Cumberlands with a Bachelor in Psychology with a minor in Human Services.
Congratulations to LCHS Senior, Drake Steele! We are thrilled to announce that LCHS Senior, Drake Steele, has successfully passed his ASVAB test and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on Tuesday, May 21st, at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Beckley, WV!
Drake shared his journey toward this decision:
“I learned about the USMC from a friend and decided to reach out to the military recruitment branch. I became interested because of the physical and mental challenges faced during boot camp and beyond. I hope to turn this into a career! I am very happy and excited to enter this branch of service!”
We are very proud and excited for Drake and wish him the very best on this exciting journey!
