Lawrence County Schools opened another preschool classroom at Louisa West Elementary School on December 6th. If you have a child who was four years old on August 1st they are eligible to attend our Universal Preschool program for free. Call the school at 638-4726 for enrollment information. We also have additional preschool spaces in our preschool classrooms at Blaine and Fallsburg. Call today and start the enrollment process! We know that children who attend preschool have a greater likelihood of success in Kindergarten.

On Monday, the LC Board of Education voted to allow OPTIONAL masking to begin on January 3, 2022. The Board also gave stipulations where OPTIONAL masking could occur prior to January 3, 2022.

Gov. Beshear Awards $750,000 Grant to Expand Dataseem Apprenticeships.
Lawrence County currently has 4 juniors participating in the Dataseem Apprenticeship program. Upon completion, these students will earn certifications in Information Technology that they can either carry with them directly into the workforce or help launch their college degrees. This grant will help several students from across the commonwealth gain this invaluable experience and potential certification including future Lawrence County students.
