Louisa Middle School participated in Red Ribbon Week events with its Say No to Drugs door contest! The LMS FRYSC also invited motivational speaker Forest Quillen, who told LMS students why saying no to drugs is vital!

Congratulations to Blaine Middle School for becoming one of LC School's three KSA green-rated schools for the 2023-2024 school year! Mr. Jennings, BES principal, discussed the teachers' and students' efforts and determination to accomplish this fantastic goal. The school recently celebrated with a green party for its students. Congratulations to Louisa East Elementary School for being ranked by the KSA as a green school! Louisa East's Principal, Mr. Dixon, always encourages students to work hard and do their best. The students, guided by their teachers, worked diligently on their journey to become a green school! Louisa East even painted a green hallway so the 4th—and 5th-grade students could sign their names and take pride in this outstanding accomplishment! Congratulations, Louisa East, on going GREEN!
Fallsburg Elementary School started a free student haircut program last school year! Mrs. Ward, FES guidance counselor, felt there was a need. Stylists and barbers in the community rallied to offer their support and services. Mrs. Ward elaborated that she has witnessed the confidence boost it has had for the students! A big thank you to those who support this program for our kids! We love seeing all of these smiling faces!
Thank you to our LC Schools Family Resource and Youth Service Center coordinators for attending the LCHD Health Fair held at the LC Community Center! The FRYSCs discussed their current programs and gave away free digital thermometers!

Best of luck to our LCHS boys' soccer team as they compete in the first round of the KHSAA State Soccer Tournament! The Bulldogs will play against Oneida Baptist Institute this evening at 6 PM! The LCHS environmental class enjoyed a field trip to Blaine Creek to explore its marine ecosystem. The students received hands-on experience documenting aquatic insects, evaluating stream structure, along with determining land use and water quality.
