Mr. Bradshaw's LCHS Carpentry Class recently collaborated with Fallsburg Elementary School to build a portable chicken coop for the FES Agriculture Career & Technical Education (CTE) class! The carpentry students delivered the structure to FES on Wednesday, January 14th! FES students will have the opportunity to practice animal husbandry, the science of raising and managing domestic animals. Students will gain hands-on experience with real-world lessons about life cycles, along with other lessons grounded in science and biology. Tasks, such as feeding and cleaning, will help teach students about cause-and-effect relationships and responsibility. We are excited to watch this project unfold for the students at FES! #LCisHome

Mrs. Dotson and Mrs. Bentley from the Lawrence County, UK, Extension 4-H program recently visited Blaine Elementary School, providing engaging food-related activities that enrich our students' learning experiences. The BES intermediate students had a wonderful time learning to create attractive charcuterie boards featuring a wide variety of foods. Many students tried hummus for the first time, and several shared how much they enjoyed it! Meanwhile, the primary students actively participated in shaking heavy cream-filled containers to make butter. Many students commented that it was the best day ever, emphasizing their enthusiasm for hands-on learning. We genuinely value the Lawrence County 4-H for providing these enriching activities that excite and inspire our students! #LCisHome
