Bus Driver Appreciation Day is today, Tuesday, April 22nd! We appreciate our bus drivers, who go above and beyond to safely get our students to school and back home. We appreciate all of the late evenings you spend traveling with the teams, on field trips, and on extended trips. Thank you for the miles you put in for our kids!
Louisa Middle School has introduced Career Ready Labs for its eighth-grade students. These labs provide an opportunity for students to explore various career paths, including Home Maintenance Fundamentals, Cosmetology & Barbering, Sports Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Criminalistics, Dentistry, and Environmental & Ecology. Students participate in a multi-day rotation, ensuring they complete all the labs. This approach helps them discover the careers that spark their interest for the future.
The week of April 7th-11th is National Assistant Principals Week! Louisa Middle School has the absolute best! We appreciate and thank Mr. Bryan Short for his hard work and dedication to our students and school! He not only promotes a positive learning environment, but also works tirelessly to manage school operations . His support for our teachers and staff is invaluable. Congratulations to Fallsburg Elementary School for winning the third round of the LC Schools Attendance Challenge Contest, held from March 17th to March 28th! FES will proudly display the attendance trophy in their school for the next two weeks. The new attendance contest started on Monday, April 7th, and will run through Friday, April 18th! We can't wait to see who will win this next LC Schools Attendance Challenge and take home the trophy!

March 28th! Also, schools will be closed for Spring Break from Monday, March 31st to Friday, April 4th!
Congratulations to Louisa Middle School eighth-graders, Lauren Sammons, Laila Dolen, and Aubrey Brady for being selected for the Rogers Explorers Program. Lauren will be attending the University of Pikeville, while Laila and Aubrey will be attending Morehead State University to complete the program! We are so proud of these young ladies!
Announcement! Lawrence County Schools will not be in session on Thursday, March 27th, as we support our LCHS basketball team at the KHSAA Sweet 16 Boys' Basketball State Tournament at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. Our LCHS Bulldogs will compete against Montgomery County at 1:30 PM. We hope our students and community will take this opportunity to support our players and their coaches.
