Today is School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! We want to thank Officer Musick and Officer Powers for their service, hard work, and dedication to our students and schools! We appreciate all you do!

Today, we celebrate FRYSC Week with Blaine Elementary School's FRYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Tina Bevins! Mrs. Bevins goes above and beyond for our students and their families. She organizes the Readifest backpack program, has developed a Christmas Backpack program, and sends out a monthly newsletter to families, informing them about the opportunities or programs within our community. Blaine Elementary is truly fortunate to have Mrs. Bevins working and continually looking for ways to provide more resources to students!

Parents and guardians of all students in Lawrence County Schools, please take a few minutes to answer the questions on the Title I Parent Engagement Survey. Our counselors provide social and emotional learning lessons, work with students through Terrace Metrics surveys, and provide support whenever needed. The LC School Attendance Challenge starts tomorrow! It will run from Monday, February 3rd, through Friday, February 14th. The winning school will receive the traveling attendance trophy, a prize from the school, and, of course, bragging rights! Remember, attendance matters!

Congratulations to our Louisa Middle, Blaine, and Fallsburg students who competed in the 2025 Governor's Cup District 72 Competition! We are so proud of all of our students! In the overall results, LMS placed 1st, and BES placed 2nd! Check out the rest of the results!

It's KY School Board Recognition Month! Today, we spotlight Mrs. Susie Rice, recently elected to serve her first four-year term. Mrs. Rice has previously served three years on the LC Board of Education. She represents District 4, which includes the areas of East/West Louisa and Meadow Brook. We are grateful for the significant impact of her service on our students, staff, and community!

Today, we shine a spotlight on Mr. Jim See, the LC Board of Education Chair, who has dedicated 19 years to serving LC Schools. Mr. See represents District 2, including the areas of Spring Hill, Adams, the Point Section, Stella Moore, and Brushy. We deeply appreciate his service and the difference he has made in the lives of our students and community.
