Louisa Middle School SBDM parent election information
Procedures
Nomination Process:
*2 Parents can be elected at Louisa Middle School to sit on the SBDM council.
*Nominations will be submitted through e-mail only. All submissions will need to go to brw_04@hotmail.com
*Nominations will be from April 28th 8:00am to May 2nd by 9pm. After that, NO more nominations will be accepted, and the nominee will be contacted to verify they want to be on ballot.
*The ballot will then be prepared for the official vote.
Voting:
*Voting will take place on Friday May 5th at Louisa Middle School.
*Voting will be from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. No votes will count after 4pm. Voting will be conducted in the lobby at LMS.
*There will be no absentee ballots, this is an in person voting only.
*Brittany Kitts is responsible for administering the election. Votes will be counted as soon as election is over, and the winners will be contacted.
Your child must be entering the 6th through 8th grade and attending LMS.
The end of the 2022-2023 school year is closing in fast! There are so many activities happening throughout our LC Schools! We have an End of Year Events Calendar to help keep track of the major events!

Attention! LC Schools will begin end-of-year testing on May 2, 2023! Please make sure students do not have appointments scheduled during the testing window. Students also need to be well rested, be at school on time, and have a good breakfast!

LCHS held the second Bridge Day for the upcoming transition for 8th-grade middle school students. Student groups toured three various events. LC Schools would like to thank all of the community partners, who helped make the day a huge success!

The LCHS JROTC visited Fallsburg Elementary School and Louisa Middle School to discuss program benefits with upcoming 8th-grade students! The JROTC program promotes student responsibility and builds leadership skills.

Lawrence County Gifted and Talented middle school students visited the East KY Science Center and Varia Planetarium at the Big Sandy Community & Technical College Campus in Prestonsburg, KY!

The All-County Band performed their 2023 concert, under the instruction of Mr. Logan Skidmore, East Carter's Band Director. Blaine Elementary, Fallsburg Elementary, and Louisa Middle School band students came together in a type of "band bridge day."

I apologize for the mistake on the Upcoming Events. The last day of school is Monday, May 22nd not May 19th.
March is Music in Our Schools Month! The LCHS Choir and Band hosted a production, that included all of the schools within the district! They also started the LC Schools Music Hall of Fame! The program and induction ceremony was a huge success!

Attention! The menu has changed for all LC Schools for Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30, 2023. An Easter meal will be served during lunch on Thursday, March 30th. The Easter meal will consist of bone-in chicken or ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, green beans, homemade rolls, dressing, and dessert.
