At our Board of Education meeting last week, the LC Board set the new property tax rate at 62.0 cents for every $100 of property value. This is a small increase (from 58.9), which comes to about $31 more per year for a home valued at $100,000. This small increase is important because it makes the Lawrence County school buildings eligible to receive matching funds from the state for use on facilities. Only 0.1 cents of the increase is recallable, which would be about $1 for every $100,000 of assessed property value for a year. If this amount were to be recalled, LC would not receive those matching funds from the state to use on school buildings.
Included is a link to the presentation that was shared at the meeting. It explains all of this in more detail so you have the facts that were shared.

The Office of Special Education & Early Learning (OSEEL) at the KY Department of Education has recognized our preschool programs at Blaine Elementary, Fallsburg Elementary, and Louisa West Elementary by awarding them with the prestigious designation of Level 5 Kentucky All Star Programs.
