Reminder- Tomorrow our FIRST grade students visit Camp Landing to watch Zootopia 2. This is their field trip rescheduled from Dec. Our PRESCHOOL and KINDERGARTEN students will enjoy the Zoodles assembly. Permission slips have been sent home for this.

Louisa West January events are attached. Kindergarten and preschool students will need to return permission slips for Zoodles no later than Tuesday! First grade students will need to make sure they have their field trip permission slip turned in for Wednesday's trip to Camp Landing. They will not be here during the Zoodles assembly due to the field trip. We are ready for a great week!

Congratulations to Ms. Yolanda Puig!

We are thrilled to announce that Ms. Yolanda Puig has been selected as the new IDEA District Resource Teacher for Louisa West Elementary, Blaine Elementary, and the First Steps/Head Start program. With an impressive 19-year teaching career, she has demonstrated remarkable dedication and success within our school district. Her wealth of experience will be valuable to her new position.

As our students return to their classrooms on Monday, January 5th, LC Schools is offering new, exciting attendance initiative programs!

Brag Tag program for our elementary students, grades Prek-5!
Elementary students will have the chance to earn Brag Tags for outstanding attendance! Any student who misses 1 day or fewer will receive a themed tag in recognition of their outstanding attendance! Students can earn all five tags and display them on their bookbags!

We hope that everyone enjoyed a delightful and restful holiday break! We are thrilled to welcome our students back to their classrooms on Monday, January 5th, 2026! We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early on Monday morning! #LCisHome

Beginning in January, students at Blaine, Fallsburg, Louisa East, and Louisa West will have the opportunity to earn Brag Tags! Any student who misses one day or fewer will receive a themed tag to recognize their outstanding attendance! Throughout the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year, students will have the chance to collect
all FIVE tags to display proudly on their backpacks! Remember! Attendance Matters! #LCisHome

REMINDER- Our K/1 Christmas Programs and parties are tomorrow. Students will perform and parents/guardians will have the opportunity to make a craft after with students! Times are posted on the flyer.

Lawrence County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, December 17, 2025. Temperatures are expected to remain above freezing overnight and into tomorrow. Road conditions have greatly improved today and buses will run on clear routes. We look forward to seeing everyone.

Due to ongoing icy road conditions and low temperatures across the county, tomorrow (Tuesday 12/16/25) will be NTI Day 5 for Lawrence County Schools. Please contact your child's school if you have any questions. Students will also have extra time to complete their NTI work once we return in person. Stay safe and warm.

Update on our Christmas events at Louisa West! Don't forget- our Family Math Night is Wednesday 4-5:30. Santa Claus will be here for pictures and a special treat! The Grinch will also make an appearance at school on Thursday for Grinch Day!
