INFINITE CAMPUS PARENT PORTAL

                                               

To access the Parent Portal, go to the District website (http://www.lawrence.k12.ky.us) and click Parent Portal on the bottom left of the home page.  Or you can access the portal at this address:  https://infinitecampus.kyschools.us/campus/portal/lawrence.jsp

 

The login screen appears. The first time you access the Parent Portal, you will click ‘click here’ by the first choice under ‘First time using Campus Portal?’.

 

 

On the next screen you will use the provided 32 character GUID number as the Campus Portal Activation Key.  Click Submit.

 

 

 

Your name appears on the Welcome screen.  Now you can create your User Name and Password.  We recommend the Name be descriptive but easy to remember.  The Password must be at least 8 characters and use letters and numbers.  Keep this Password secure and do not share it with anyone.  If you feel that your password has been compromised, immediately change it.

 

 

Five unsuccessful login attempts will disable the account.  If this occurs, please email

Marsha.Shannon@Lawrence.kyschools.us or Paulette.Simpson@lawrence.kyschools.us to reactivate your account.

 

After logging in, the main Parent Portal screen appears.

Your name

 

 

In the large area on the right side, you will see any District Notices, School Notices, and/or Notes that have been published to the Parent Portal.  These will be updated periodically.

 

The left side of the screen is the Menu.  You will see your name and items pertaining to your child(ren). 

 

Note the Log Off near the bottom of the menu.  Always click this to end your session. 
Do not use the red X to end.

 

Click on any menu item to view information regarding your student(s).  A brief description of each follows:

 

Family - Click on the word Family and the demographic information about the student’s family appears.  It only includes household memberships.   A household is defined as the people who live with the student at his/her address.  It will display each member’s name, the user’s relationship to each member (such as mother, father, spouse, etc.), enrollment data for the student, address(es), guardian phone numbers (home, cell, work), and e-mail address.  Please contact your student’s school office if there are errors in this data.

 

Calendar – Click on the word Calendar and the Infinite Campus calendar appears.  This is the state approved calendar that displays the Break Days, Teacher Work Days, Professional Development Days, Holidays, etc.  It will also display assignments due for each child in the household if the teacher has indicated this in the Lesson Planner.

 

A bell indicates a recorded attendance event for the indicated student.  Click on the bell to see the student’s attendance record.  Click the date for details.

 

An A+ icon indicates an assignment.  Click to view the details which will include the Name of the assignment, the Due Date, the Date Assigned (if this has been completed by the teacher), Total Points Possible for this assignment, Score made on this assignment, and Comments (if any).

 

Your child’s name and grade are next on the Menu. 

 

Your child’s school is the next item in the Menu.  Click on the school name and the Calendar for that school and child will appear. 

 

Schedule – Click on Schedule to view your child’s schedule.  Displayed is the class name, teacher name, and room number (if indicated in Infinite Campus).  Click on the name of the class and the gradebook for that class appears.

The Grading Task Summary section displays the posted grades in green and the in-progress grade in yellow.  Posted grades are the Progress Report and the Nine Weeks Grade.

Continue to scroll down to view the assignments and grades your child has received.

 

If you click on the name of the assignment in blue, a detailed screen will be displayed regarding the particular assignment.

 

Term Q1 refers to the first grading period (the first nine weeks); Term Q2 refers to the second grading period (the second nine weeks); etc. 

 

Continue to scroll and the grading scale will be displayed.

 

If there is an envelope by the teacher’s name, you can click on the teacher’s name and your preferred e-mail software appears so that you can e-mail the teacher. 

 

If you have any questions about your child’s grades, please either contact your student’s  school office to arrange a conference or e-mail the teacher with your question. 

 

To return to the previous screen, click on the word Schedule in the Main Menu.

 

Attendance – Click on Attendance.  Displayed is Enrollment Information, Days Present. Days Absent, Days Enrolled, and Days Scheduled.  The number of tardies and unexcused events are displayed.  The Legend explains the color-coding.  Click on the date and the details of the attendance event are shown.

 

Please be aware that posted attendance is immediately viewable in the Parent Portal and the office staff of your student’s school may not have had sufficient time to call you regarding the student’s absence.

Behavior – Click on Behavior and the details of any entered discipline appears.  This includes the date the behavior occurred, what happened, consequences, and the student’s role in the event. 

 

Please be aware that posted behavior is immediately viewable in the Parent Portal and the office staff of your student’s school may not have had sufficient time to call you regarding the student’s behavior.

 

Assessment – Click on Assessment and any entered national test (like ACT or SAT) or state test results (like CATS or CTB) will be displayed.

 

IEP – If your child is receiving services, a completed/locked IEP will be available for viewing.

 

Special Education Forms – If your child is receiving services, any applicable completed forms will be viewable.

 

Reports – Click on Reports to see a list of available reports.  Choices may include Schedule, Missing Assignments, Progress Reports (grades 4 though 12), and Report Cards (grades 4 though 12).

 

Change Contact Info – click to enter/update your e-mail address.

 

Log Off – always click this to leave the Parent Portal.

 

 

 

 

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

 

Infinite Campus supports Windows Vista, XP, and 200 Professional as well as Mac OS x and OS 9.2.2.   For the Processor, Campus supports P3, P4, and 1 GHZ 32-bit  as well as G3 and G4 for Mac users.  256 RAM or more is recommended for both Mac and PC. 

 

Supported browsers include Internet Explorer and Firefox as well as Safari, Camino, and Firefox for Mac users. 

 

Download a free version of Java from www.java.com  Infinite Campus recommends using version Java 1.5.10 or higher.
