About Mrs. Hurley

Hi!  Welcome to West Louisa Elementary School !  I thought I would begin by telling you a little about myself on a personal level.

I have worked in the Wayne County Schools System for 37 years.  I began my teaching career at Thompson Elementary School, I transferred to Crum Elementary and Fort Gay Elementary and Middle.  Most of those years have been at Fort Gay Elementary, teaching grades K, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 and serving as principal. I have taught all subjects  in K, 1, 2 & 6 in Title 1 at Fort Gay Middle School.  I have my masters in Elementary Education and Administrative certification.  I have been in administration for approximately 20 years.  I attended Crum High School, Berea College and Marshall University.  I worked for Marshall University as supervisor of student teachers.

I have been married to Neil Hurley for the past 39 years. He is a retired sheet metal worker.  We have one son (David Neil) who is a pilot for Delta, our daughter-in-law (Kim) is an elementary teacher.  My hobbies are traveling and reading, but I spend most of my free time with my only grandchild, Nick. I regularly attend Fort Gay Freewill Baptist and am a member of Webb Freewill Baptist Church.

I am looking forward to working with you and your child this school year.  If you have any concerns or feel the need to have a parent conference, please do not hesitate to contact me.  You can contact me at:
