POLICY STATEMENT

The School Improvement Committee and
the principal shall ensure that the professional growth and development needs
of staff are included in the needs assessment portion of the planning
process, and that appropriate objectives and strategies are included in the
school improvement plan to provide for these needs for the coming school
year. The principal shall be
responsible for ensuring that the school plans professional development in
coordination with the other schools and the professional development
coordinator for the school district. Approval of the school improvement
plan will also constitute approval of the school professional development
offerings for the coming year.
Professional development that is not included in the school’s
improvement plan will not be approved by the principal unless there is an
individual need that is included in the individual’s evaluation and
professional growth plan. |
